Monday, August 21, 2023, was National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day, a chance to remember those who died from the drug while recognizing its current impacts and prevalence in communities across the country. PCAO has already charged more fentanyl cases this year than all of last year.
While we often talk about fentanyl, the power of the message is far greater for those who have lost a loved one. Amy Neville, seen in the video, lost her son Alexander to fentanyl poisoning in 2020 when he took a pill that he was unaware contained fentanyl. Amy continues to partner with us and many other entities to spread the message to families.
